Cosplay comedy at NYCC as Star Trek's Commander Data

Service in Afghanistan

a long time ago…

Dave is a Washington, DC-based professional museum nerd and amateur science/sci-fi geek. He is also a retired combat veteran who has the curious distinction of having served in the US Navy, the MD Army National Guard, and Air Force.

He is a graduate of the Armed Services Arts Partnership’s comedy bootcamp, and continues to instruct comedy classes for veterans, servicemembers, and military family as part of ASAP’s mission. He also teaches classes for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dave also performs in character as a Star Trek “red shirt” and as Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Commander Data.

Dave is probably watching Star Wars or Star Trek right now. Or reading “the Murderbot Diaries.” Or playing video games. He’s a nerd.

Dave’s varied experience gives him a wide range of topics to use in his comedy. He has performed for military and civilian crowds (clubs to corporate), loves performing nerdy shows for comic/science fiction conventions, and has flexible sets ranging from squeaky clean to mil-spec profanity.

Need a host or someone to moderate a panel at your con? Dave’s done that! He’s also given presentations on military medicine, humor in Star Trek, and other sci-fi topics.

Need a show for your event? Let Dave know and he can assemble the perfect mix of comedians to fit your nerdy-to-normal needs!

Dave has taught comedy classes for ASAP and the Wounded Warrior Project, and you can book him to do seminars on the craft of stand up comedy, with formats that fit everything from a lunch hour to a full day.
